All about our Preschool Class - Rising Stars

In our preschool classroom, children learn through active play, exploration, and meaningful routines. Our focus is on supporting growth across all developmental areas as they prepare for Pre-K:

  • Social & Emotional Growth
  • Language & Early Literacy

  • Early Math & Cognitive Skills

  • Fine & Gross Motor Skills

  • Creative Expression & Imagination

  • Independence & Self-Help Skills

Social Emotional Growth

Preschoolers are learning how to manage emotions, cooperate with peers, and develop empathy. In our classroom, they practice sharing, taking turns, resolving conflicts with guidance, and expressing feelings with words. These experiences help build friendships, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging.

Language and Early Literacy

Language skills blossom in preschool as children begin to use longer sentences, ask questions, and expand vocabulary. We support literacy growth through daily story time, songs, rhymes, and conversations. Children explore letters and sounds, practice recognizing their names in print, and begin to experiment with early writing and drawing.

Early Math and Cognitive Skills

Preschoolers are curious problem-solvers. We encourage early math skills by exploring numbers, shapes, sorting, measuring, and patterning in meaningful contexts. Cognitive growth is supported through hands-on activities that involve questioning, predicting, and experimenting—laying the foundation for logical thinking and problem-solving.

Fine and Gross Motor Skills

Developing motor skills is essential at this age. Preschoolers strengthen fine motor muscles through drawing, coloring, cutting with scissors, and building with small manipulatives . Gross motor skills are practiced daily through running, climbing, balancing, hopping, and group movement games that build coordination and confidence.

Creative Expression and Imagination

Creativity is central to preschool learning. Children use art materials freely to explore colors, textures, and designs without focusing on a “right” outcome. Music, movement, and dramatic play give children opportunities to express themselves, act out ideas, and build early storytelling skills.

Independence and Self help Skills

Preschoolers thrive when given opportunities to do things for themselves. In our classroom, they practice daily routines like hand washing, dressing, cleaning up, and helping with classroom responsibilities. These moments foster independence, self-confidence, and responsibility for their environment.
